Kate Hudson has been engaged to Muse singer Matthew Bellamy for nearly three years—and it sounds like it's going to stay that way for a while longer.
Hudson chatted about her wedding plans (or, more accurately, lack thereof) on Live With Kelly & Michael yesterday, and, frankly, dashed our hopes of seeing her rock a boho-chic wedding dress anytime soon.
"Are you planning a big wedding to your fiancé?" co-host Michael Strahan asked during the show.
"No, I'm planning nothing right now," Hudson replied. "I'm so busy, we've been so busy and it's been great."
In fact, it sounds like Hudson is taking a cue from her famously unmarried mother, Goldie Hawn, as she slowly prepares for her second wedding. "I come from an unconventional family—they're not married, my parents aren't married," Hudson said of Hawn and Kurt Russell, whom she calls dad. "So there's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right...And it's a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot! I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding. So, no. Not anytime soon, no."
That movie, of course, was Bride Wars, which starred Hudson and Anne Hathaway as sparring engaged friends.
The news that no nuptials are on the horizon isn't just a bummer for us, it's also apparently disappointing for her older son Ryder! Hudson told Ellen DeGeneres in October that Ryder, her son from her first marriage to Chris Robinson, is antsy for his mom to say "I do."

"Ryder [is pressuring me] a little bit," Hudson said. "I think he looks forward more to the party than actually the idea of us getting married. Because he has it really planned out what he's wearing...Apparently he wants to wear a neon-green tux. I'm all for it. He's a bit of a fashion boy."
Before too long, her 2-year-old son Bingham might be joining the chorus of eager family members, too! Hudson was an expectant bride-to-be way before the current trend in Hollywood, and now she's poised to start a wave of very long engagements.
But on the bright side, this gives us plenty of time to plan a dream wedding for the A-list couple. Given her sunny, laid-back disposition, we can totally see her saying "I do" at the artsy Race & Religious wedding venue in New Orleans. It's bohemian, beautiful, and totally unique—just like Hudson herself!
