Congratulations are in order for Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, who are now engaged! The news comes courtesy of the supermodel herself, who made the big announcement on her Instagram on Tuesday. " I love you more than I have words to express," she wrote, under a seaside photo of herself kissing her fiancé on the cheek. "Josh, you’re my best friend and my soulmate. I can’t wait for forever together. Yes a million times over 💍."
Although Karlie only revealed the engagement on Tuesday, People reported that the actual proposal took place a while back. “He proposed a few weeks ago during a romantic weekend together in upstate New York," a source told People. “They’re both overjoyed and happily celebrating. Their hearts are full and they’re excited to build their future together.” People also reported, based on a source, that Karlie converted to Judaism in early June—which Ivanka Trump also did before getting engaged to Joshua's older brother, Jared Kushner. “She’s never been one to make decisions lightly,” the source added. “She spends a lot of time reflecting and learning.”
Throughout their six-year (and counting!) relationship, Karlie has tended to keep her and Joshua's private life out of the press. "It's not like I've ever wanted to be so secretive about my private life. Carolina Herrera always says, 'A woman who's an open book is boring,'" she told Porter magazine back in April. "There's no mystery anymore. I know in my life what really matters to me. I'm not trying to hide that from the world; I just really like having a more private private life. I've got nothing to hide, though!"
Lately, however, she's been a little bit more forthcoming about their relationship, sharing photos of their vacation to Japan. "I don’t think there’s been a change—it’s more just sharing more parts of my life, and he’s a big part of it," she told W in early July, about opening up. "I’m incredibly busy, but I love what I do, and my boyfriend’s incredibly busy, but he loves what he does, too," she added. "I think it’s important to make time to be with your loved ones—to work hard, play hard. That’s the way I live my life."
Now we can only hope Taylor Swift serenades the happy couple on their big day.
