Julianne Hough is loving married life, but she's also ready to get back to the grind. While she and husband Brooks Laich showed their support for good pal Nina Dobrev during her Harper’s Bazaar cover party — this also served as their first appearance as newlyweds! — the Dancing With the Stars pro opened up about life after "I do."
“Having taken time off to do the tour, get married and go on the honeymoon, I’m ready to be back in the swing of things and get back to work,” she told People. “It definitely feels different being married. People have always said that and I didn’t understand it but now I feel more whole."
Of course, the dancer revealed her favorite part about being husband and wife. “Just being able to call him husband is so fun. It was actually when we got our marriage certificate. It was like ‘How are you doing, husband?’ It was fun."
The couple tied the knot in July during a romantic outdoor wedding in Idaho. The wedding party included the bride's brother, Derek Hough, as groomsman, and actress Nina Dobrev as bridesmaid, and guests included Aaron Paul and Hough's fellow DWTS pro Mark Ballas. After the nuptials, Hough and Laich embarked on a whirlwind honeymoon in Africa.
During the same People interview, Hough shared details on the experience. “Yeah, beach and bush is what they call it. Seychelles was incredible to decompress. It was nice to be able to chill and relax."
It was phenomenal," she continued. "I fell in love with Africa last year when I did Bear Grylls and Brooks came with me for that. It’s just magical,” the actress explained about the second leg of their honeymoon. “There’s nothing like it. They always say ‘Did you get bit by the Africa bug?’ So we don’t know how we’re going to travel anywhere else. We’re just always planning our next trip to Africa!"
