Mark your calendars. Another Duggar wedding is on the reality TV horizon! After a three-and-a-half-month relationship, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have announced their plans to wed and have assumably been soaking up their engagement bliss ever since. (There's nothing like a good side hug, romantic dates chaperoned by your younger siblings, and texting one another sweet nothings in a group message with your parents, amiright?) But now it's apparently time to get serious and work on those wedding plans. The Counting On star's rumored wedding date has just been revealed—and it's kind of controversial (go figure) for this famous family.
Joy-Anna's big sis, Jinger Duggar, may have just tied the knot four months ago, but there's no rest for the Duggars when it comes to wedding planning! By the time their 19th kid gets hitched, we're sure Jim Bob and Michelle will have the planning down to a two-week process. But in actuality, we'll have to wait a little longer than two weeks to see Joy-Anna and her fiancé tie the knot. In fact, this could be the longest we've ever had to wait between a Duggar's engagement and wedding day.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Joy-Anna is rumored to be tying the knot on...drumroll, please...October 28, 2017, the day of the bride's 20th birthday.
But what supposedly makes this wedding date controversial is not the bride's young age. (Looks like there won't be a champagne toast at this reception even if the Duggars' religion did permit drinking.) It's the fact that the engagement would be a whopping seven months long. Gasp! The horror! Wait...
Seven months is not a long time to plan a wedding. In fact, we recommend just getting your wedding dress nine months in advance! So if it takes longer to make the average wedding dress than Joy-Anna's entire engagement, what's with the controversy? Well, engagements usually only last between three to four months in the Duggar family, leading fans to wonder what the deal is.
IDK, maybe these two just want to get to know each other after only dating for three-and-a-half-months? Crazy concept, right?
It is worth noting however, that the TLC-famous family has yet to confirm this October wedding date. (We're waiting for our invite, guys!)
But if it's true, it looks like Joy-Anna and Austin will be waiting awhile to experience that first sweet, sweet, full-on frontal hug.
