One Duggar wedding down, another to begin planning! Guess that just comes with the territory with 19 kids in the family, but geez, give those parents a break! Or a glass of wine—if the Duggars partake in liquid libation, that is. But in any case, we'll raise a glass to Joy-Anna Duggar, the latest Duggar daughter to have tied the knot. After just a three-month engagement to her love Austin Forsyth, the couple wed this weekend in a church ceremony witnessed by their family and friends. And in a surprise twist, another Duggar sibling got engaged at the reception! (We hope the bride didn't mind...)
Back in March, 19-year-old Joy-Anna Duggar announced that she was engaged to her longtime friend, 23-year-old Austin Forsyth. "We were gonna go horse riding, and I decided to bring [my sisters] Johannah and Jennifer along because I knew that they would enjoy that, and they got to be the chaperones for this date," the Counting On star said in her engagement announcement on the TLC website. "So, Austin made this day really, really special, and he asked me to marry him, and I said yes."
And now after just three months of wedding planning (show us your ways, girl!), the couple has officially said "I do."
PEOPLE reports that the wedding took place on Friday in a church completely packed with the couple's family and friends. "We feel so happy and so excited," the bride told the entertainment mag. "Leading up, it was so surreal until I was walking down the aisle and then I was like, 'Oh my goodness, it's actually here.'"
"We are going to be traveling for our honeymoon for awhile," noted Joy-Anna. "A lifetime," her new hubby adorably added.
But while those two are off honeymooning, another Duggar sibling will be wedding planning! During the nupitals, the bride's brother, Joseph Duggar, popped the question to Kendra Caldwell, whom he had been courting for the past few months—that's the Duggar-family approved form of dating for the uninformed, which consists of no sex, no kissing, chaperoned dates, and side-hugs only.
"We are super excited. It's great to not be courting anymore, now we're engaged!" the couple shared with PEOPLE.
"I was definitely nervous going into it," explained the soon-to-be groom. "But I wasn't afraid that she was going to say no, because she has said, 'I'm just waiting on you!'"
Hopefully Joseph asked for Joy-Anna's blessing before popping the question at her wedding, but at any rate, congratulations you two! You're now one step closer to that first sweet, sweet full-frontal hug.
