The drama continues after the wedding of Drake & Josh star Josh Peck last weekend, in which the former Nickelodeon actor left his onscreen brother, Drake Bell, off the guest list. Bell didn't take too kindly to the invite snub and let the world know it, bemoaning the sticky situation all over Twitter. Awkward... However, he might take comfort in the fact that, as it turns out, none of the Drake & Josh siblings made the guest list cut. Miranda Cosgrove, who costarred as Bell and Peck's little sister on the Nickelodeon sitcom, was also denied an invite to the wedding. And understandably so, it sounds like the groom is getting fed up with the continuing drama.
On Saturday, June 17, Josh Peck married his love Paige O'Brien in Malibu, California, and while there was an array of celebrity wedding guests in attendance—including Peck's Grandfathered costar John Stamos—one was noticeably missing: Drake Bell. In the days following, Bell responded to his guest list snub by getting seriously salty on Twitter, writing in a since-deleted tweet "When you're not invited to the wedding the message is clear," according to Pop Buzz. In another now-deleted tweet, Bell wrote "I'll miss ya brotha," also posting a pic of himself and Peck during happier days.
Yeah, it was awkward...
Former Drake & Josh fans were brokenhearted to learn that the onscreen bros weren't that close IRL, and they ended up taking the drama to Cosgrove's Instagram. "Why did you steal Drake's invitation, Megan?" a fan commented on a recent photo of the actress, according to Teen Vogue. "WHAT DID YOU DO MEGAN," wrote another. "DRAKE WAS NOT AT JOSH'S WEDDING."
However, it was soon pointed out by other fans that Cosgrove didn't attend the wedding either. "You weren't invited to the wedding. I am heartbroken and crying," one commented. Unlike Bell however, Cosgrove is staying quiet about the whole situation.
Meanwhile, despite the presumed newlywed bliss, the publicity may be getting through to Peck, with masses of fans commenting "#justice4drake" on his wedding photos.
According to a new report, it's looks like #justice4drake isn't happening any time soon—and for a pretty good reason. A source at Us Weekly revealed that Bell didn't send congratulations following Peck's engagement to O'Brien. Further, Peck is totally heated over his former costar's decision to create all this drama, and told wedding guests that he and Bell "hadn't spoke in three years."
"At Josh’s wedding this weekend some guests were asking Josh Peck where Drake was," a source shared with Us Weekly. Josh told everyone that he and Drake hadn’t spoken in three years. They would tweet each other back on social media a couple times a year, but never actually spoke."
"When Drake didn’t get invited to Josh’s wedding, he started tweeting all of those dramatic memes," continued the insider. "Josh was really hurt. They aren’t close anymore and Josh had a very small wedding."
Well, that certainly explains the situation. But something tells us Bell probably won't be accepting that (totally valid!) excuse.
