Jordin Sparks won American Idol in 2007, and now, 10 years later, she's won the award for best celebrity secret-keeper. After months of keeping her lips tightly zipped, the singer finally revealed to People this week that not only did she get married over the summer, but she and husband Dana Isaiah are now expecting their first child sometime next spring. Sparks sees your secret pregnancies, Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, and raises you one secret wedding.

Sparks, who previously dated Jason Derulo for several years, told People that she and Isaiah, an aspiring model, first got to know each other in a group text that also included Isaiah's mom, who had met Sparks while the singer was in Houston with her charity campaign, I'm M.A.D., Are You?, during Super Bowl weekend. "My mom was trying to get [Jordin] to talk me out of moving to L.A. because she's experienced the industry out here," Isaiah explained. "It wasn't like, 'We want you guys to date.'" But the pair clicked immediately, and finally met in person when Isaiah flew to L.A.

over Easter weekend. "A couple days after we had actually met, I was like, in my head, 'That's going to be my husband! That's my husband right there,'" Sparks said. "When I'm with him, I feel comfort and safety and calm and peace, and those aren't things that I normally felt. So it was a little wake-up call for me."

Once she knew, she knew, and Sparks and Isaiah tied the knot just a few months later, on July 16, while on vacation in Hawaii with a few friends. "We're both really excited. He's been like, 'I want to shout it from the mountain tops!'" Sparks said. "We're really proud to be married to each other and to be celebrating this." She continued, "It just more solidifies the whole team sentiment of a relationship. You know you're still individuals, but at the same time everything is about 'we' and 'us' as opposed to 'you' and 'I.'"

And that "us" is about to get a little bigger, since the pair learned in late August that they'll be welcoming their first child in early 2018. "It's been really crazy because everything changes," Sparks said. "Once we got over the initial shock of it, now again, just like it is with the marriage, to be able to share that this amazing thing is happening, it's such a great thing. We did this together!"

While it's been a year full of massive life changes, Sparks said she wouldn't trade any of it for the world. "I'm extremely grateful because life is nuts. This is the best part so far because I have [Dana] and I have this little one and I have a new family. I'm the most content I've ever been in my life," she said.
