So 2018 is going to be a big year for John Stamos. After proposing to Caitlin McHugh in October 2017, the 54-year-old actor announced that the couple are expecting their first child together just two months later. At the 2018 SAG Awards, McHugh showed off her baby bump in a form-fitting black dress with high slit, while Stamos could hardly contain his excitement over his growing family.
In a dapper three-piece suit and sunglasses, Stamos posed with his fiancée, kissing her stomach and leaning his head against her bump for a hug. The moment made for an adorable photo op for the happy couple—certainly one to share with their child one day.
Stamos and McHugh seemed to be particularly lighthearted in light of their new addition. In his announcement that he and McHugh were expecting, Stamos told People that his fiancé suggested, “‘Maybe we should have a kid [before we get married],’ and I said, ‘Why?’” Stamos recalled. His fiancée jokingly responded, “Because you’re old.”
The couple recently took a babymoon trip to the Miraval Resort in Tucson, Arizona, and McHugh showed off her growing belly on Instagram for the first time in a sports bra and leggings while out on a hike. Stamos popped the question to McHugh, 31, at her favorite place, Disneyland, with a homemade short film of romantic moments from Pixar and Disney films. The movie ended with a clip from The Little Mermaid and the song “Kiss the Girl”—which Stamos has a personal connection to after his impromptu performance of the love song with Titus Burgess on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Perhaps the baby shower will be mermaid themed?
Clearly, the Fuller House star can’t wait for his house to get a little bit fuller.
