Do you wish you could have a celebrity wedding singer perform at your reception? Is John Legend's "All of Me" the top contender for your first dance song? Then take note: The Grammy-winning crooner is offering up a once-in-a-lifetime private performance — all for the small price of $10.
Legend is donating a performance for a charity raffle with his foundation, the Show Me Campaign, which helps every child gain access to quality education both internationally and domestically. Proceeds from fan donations will go towards the rebuilding of the auditorium at his alma mater, South High School in Springfield, Ohio.
"Hey, I'm John Legend, arguably, one of the most romantic people in the world," the R&B legend says in a YouTube video he posted to announce the raffle. "Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Love is in the air and I'm feeling very inspired to spread the love. That's why I want to sing a private show for you. Anywhere! Even your wedding! And if you're already married, that's cool, let's celebrate your anniversary."
By donating $10 to the campaign, you'll get 100 opportunities to win what we can only assume will be one seriously romantic private show. It's clear he's particularly excited about the prospect of singing at a wedding, which isn't out of the singer's wheelhouse — he sang "All of Me" for his wife Chrissy Teigen at their 2013 wedding and performed at Kimye's wedding!
As for what he will and will not perform, Legend says "weird cover songs" are off limits, with the exception of Color Me Badd's "I Wanna Sex You Up." "Yes, I can sing that at your wedding, too," he says.
But if you don't have an impending wedding date, not to worry! Legend is happy to help you get there with his smooth tunes. "Not married? Not a problem," he said. "I'll sweeten up that hot date and get you to that next step... of marriage, of course."
