It’s been more than 20 years since John F. Kennedy Jr. tied the knot with wife Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, but come July 13, we’ll be able to relive the late couple’s wedding day like never before.

TLC is set to release two hours of previously unseen footage from the pair’s Cumberland Island, Georgia, nuptials on September 21, 1996, in an upcoming special titled JFK Jr. and Carolyn’s Wedding: The Lost Tapes.

"This special celebration encapsulates their fairytale wedding weekend as the public has never seen, and we are honored to share it with our passionate viewers,” network president Howard Lee said in a statement.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the footage, shot by Kennedy Jr.’s best friend, Billy Noonan, shows everything from the moment the pair exchanged their vows and cut their three-tier wedding cake to the lawyer’s sweet toast for his new bride.

“Carolyn has changed my life in a way that I never thought was possible,” Kennedy Jr. reportedly told wedding-goers in the clip. “And [she] just made me tonight, the happiest man alive.”

The outlet reports that viewers will also be privy to insight from guests, including caterer Jodee Sadowsky and gospel singer David. R. Davis. Two children, meanwhile, can be heard singing “John and Carolyn sitting in a tree” of the lovebirds.

Additionally, the movie shows the duo enjoying a candlelight dinner and sharing a kiss as they twirl around the dance floor at their Greyfield Inn reception, with Bessette in her silk crepe Narcisco Rodriguez wedding dress—a gift from the designer valued around $40,000.

Their nuptials were a long time coming—Kennedy Jr.’s former assistant, RoseMarie Terenzino, revealed in a 2017 People profile that the Calvin Klein publicist made her future groom wait nearly a month before accepting his 1995 proposal. "She held off the proposal for about three weeks,” Terenzino told the magazine at the time. “I think it made him all the more intent on marrying her. He went into this thing about how everything's better with a partner, not just fishing but life.”

Tragically, the pair would die less than three years later in a fatal plane crash over the Atlantic Ocean near Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, along with Bessette’s sister, Lauren, on July 16, 1999.

Catch JFK Jr. and Carolyn’s Wedding: The Lost Tapes on July 13 on TLC at 8 p.m. ET.
