What happened in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas, as far as Joe Jonas’s wedding to Sophie Turner was concerned. And there’s largely one person to thank for that.

During an on-air interview with U.K.’s Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp on May 29, the “Sucker” singer shared his feelings about Diplo live-streaming his May 1 nuptials to Turner.

Though Jonas told the show’s radio hosts that the affair was “lit,” he conceded that the DJ, 40, more or less botched the couple’s secret. “Yeah, he did ruin it,” the DNCE frontman joked. “I love Diplo, but he loves his ‘gram, more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally, like, live-streamed with dog face filters.”

His clips also gave fans a glance at the twosome’s entrance to their ceremony to Turner’s walk down the aisle to a live performance of “Speechless” by Dan + Shay, and the other celebrity guests in attendance including Khalid, Priyanka Chopra and Nick and Kevin Jonas, who served as the groom’s best men.

The Grammy-nominee has no hard feelings about his pal’s social media faux pas, however. “We just laughed,” he said of himself and his new bride. “We loved it, we thought it was ridiculous, and I just love that he was walking into the chapel, and he’s like, ‘Gonna hit this wedding real quick.’”

Jonas might think that Diplo ruined his wedding, but from where the DJ is sitting, it was all the groom's fault.
"The only thing that 'ruined' the wedding was your fit," he wrote on Instagram, according to USA Today, referring to Jonas' gray wedding tuxedo. The comment was apparently all in good fun though. Jonas replied with an eye roll emoji.

For her part, Turner also sounded off about the snafu during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on May 24. “We didn't choose [Diplo] to be our wedding photographer," she explained to Norton, 56. "He just kind of decided to livestream it."

And in another interview with Porter, Turner subtly called out Diplo's actions, saying the wedding was supposed to be private, “but it’s tricky when people livestream it.”

The wedding was meant to be so secret that Jonas's parents weren't even notified before it happened. He said during his own interview on The Graham Norton Show, per the Daily Mail, that his parents found out via the internet. "They do, the internet told them!" Jonas said of his parents knowing he's married. "I'm still trying to make it better!"

His parents are rightfully a little peeved—as is Turner, who is now trying to laugh it off.

"It would have been better if no one had known, but I actually think it was funny,” she said. “Maybe not forever. I think at some point I would have had to stop saying ‘fiancé’, but yes, I would have kept it a secret."

For his part, Diplo revealed that it's all good between himself and the newly-married pair. During On Air With Ryan Seacrest Diplo claimed Jonas called him to apologize about escalating the "feud" to the media. The DJ added that the pair are still friends, but he stands by the fact he didn't know he was doing anything wrong.

"I didn't know it was a serious wedding," he said. "I really didn't know what was going on...I was just like, 'This is crazy. Let me record this.'"

He continued: "And there was mad people with cameras. I didn't know I was the only person recording this thing. I was sitting next to Khalid and we were both there with our phones out. I had no idea that I was the only one doing it."

Jonas and Turner will reportedly have another shot at a wedding come this summer, when they marry for a second time in France. And as long as Diplo's not involved, the couple's next wedding will likely go as the couple wants it—with full-blown privacy, that is. "Marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be," Turner added. "It’s not about the dress, it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever.”

According to a source for E! News, the first one was all in good fun, merely legalizing their union for the main event, as couples are required to be residents to legally wed in France. “They knew they needed to have a legal ceremony in the U.S. and decided a few weeks ago to do it in Vegas after the Billboard Awards," the insider told the outlet. "Some of their friends and family would be there so it felt like the perfect timing."

Turner dropped a huge hint about when the duo's next shindig will go down, telling Norton on his show that his estimate of July 15 was “a pretty good guess.”

And after that?

“We’ve got plans that we’ll be hush-hush about, but we’ll make time for that,” Jonas said on Capital FM.

Fair enough!
