Congratulations are due to Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons and his longtime boyfriend, Todd Spiewak, as the happy couple exchanged vows Saturday night in New York City, as first reported by the New York Post. Their wedding comes after 14 years of the couple being together.
According to Parsons's rep, the duo got married at the Rainbow Room in New York City—a famous event space at the top of 30 Rockefeller Center complete with a rotating dance floor. (If you get seasick, avoid this at all costs.) The nuptials shouldn't come as a surprise, though, seeing as how the actor gushed about Spiewak on Instagram on their 14th anniversary back in November. The caption read, "I met this guy (the one with the mic) 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest. One of his greatest gifts to me is that he no longer takes me to sing karaoke. Also, I believe this was a selfie with an actual camera, as our phones couldn’t do that back then hahaha! #todd #anniversary ❤️ "
And even though back in 2014, Parsons said the duo had no plans to wed, it looks like they flipped the script on that plan with this weekend's surprise ceremony. Perhaps life imitates art, as Parsons's Big Bang character, Sheldon, proposed to longtime girlfriend Amy Farah Fowler during the season finale this past month.
And speaking of The Big Bang Theory, Parsons's co-star Mayim Bialik made the wedding guest list and couldn't help but gush over her pal's nupitals on social media today. "What a wedding," she captioned a romantic shot of the newlyweds walking back up the aisle. "Not a cell phone in sight. Everyone was so present which sounds pretentious but it was truly powerful for us all to just want to be there fully. Todd and @therealjimparsons, you are so loved."
"Also," she noted, "Hands down, prettiest chupah ever. Seriously." The woman speaks the truth! Just look at that beautiful, bloom-adorned structure!
Earlier, Parsons shared a similar snap of the wedding on his own social media page. These happily-just-married grooms are bringing tears to our eyes!
Here's to wishing Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak a lifetime of happiness together—hopefully, without some of Sheldon's more adorable but irritating quirks.
