Last night's season premiere of 19 Kids and Counting showed third-eldest Duggar daughter Jessa meticulously planning her November 1 wedding to now-husband Ben Seewald, but in real life, the couple is happily basking in married life. And, as with many newlywed couples, these two have their eyes set on having children, a subject very important to the massive Duggar family.
But unlike her parents, who have nineteen biological children (Ben has six siblings himself), Jessa is interested in expanding their brood through adoption.
"We hope to adopt a lot of kids," she told People in a brand-new interview published today. "If God blesses us with biological kids of our own, it's not going to quench our desire to adopt."
According to People, the Seewalds are already knee-deep in learning more about adoption and how to bring a child home. Whether or not that means they'll still try to compete with either of their parents' impressive reproduction rates remains to be seen! Regardless, their future child will have a cousin patiently awaiting their arrival: Jessa's older sister Jill and her husband Derick Dillard are expecting their first child next month.
Children aside, Jessa and Ben also discussed an issue many couples can relate to: Conflict resolution. "We try not to argue," Ben said. Jessa added, "If we have a hard time and we talk about it, you just love each other so much more afterwards. After a disagreement, I often feel, 'I have never loved you more than I love you now.'"
