It's one kid and counting for the Seewalds!
Jessa Seewald — one of the famed Duggar daughters from TLC's 19 Kids and Counting — and her new husband Ben Seewald announced their expectant bundle of joy only five months after tying the knot! Now the newlyweds, who said "I do" last November in front of nearly 1,000 guests in a religious Arkansas ceremony, are introducing their new son to the world. Baby Seewald, whose birthday shares the same month as his parents' Arkansas nuptials, is already making headlines for his very unique name!
The new parents introduced Spurgeon Elliot Seewald to the world yesterday on their website, already sparking conversation over his very distinctive name! The origin of his notably "non-J" moniker (for those not in the Duggar know, every child in the famed family name has a name that begins with the letter "J") comes from a British Baptist who was considered the best-known preacher in England, Charles Spurgeon. "One guy that has really impacted my life is a great preacher of the past, Charles Haddon Spurgeon," Ben revealed to People in his cover story interview for the magazine, which hits newsstands later this week. Jessa added that the couple wanted to choose a "strong name, with a lot of meaning," that favored, "heroes from the Christian faith."
The finalization of Baby Seewald's exclusive title, comes after a whirlwind pregnancy — and the result of being a two-day labor — having taken over 100,000 suggestions from eager fans on ideas for the name of the newest Duggar grandchild. The new parents are already thinking about baby number two but "would love it if [their] next baby is adopted," a source told People reports. "When I was in labor, I told Ben, 'Babe we are not having any more kids after this,'" Jessa confessed, only to laugh about the "teasing" later saying, "we will have more kids. But in that moment of pain, I believed it!"
And Jessa's not the only Duggar who's basking in the "new mom" glow. Jill Dillard, Jessa's older sister, gave birth to a baby boy, Israel David Dillard in April, after marrying husband, Derick Dillard, in an on-air "Duggar I Do!" special last year. Jill Dillard shared a special message on Instagram celebrating their newest addition's one month birthday captioned, "Happy first month birthday to our handsome big guy! @derickdillard I hope and pray he grows up to be just like his daddy! #babydilly #OneMonthOld." The adorable photo shows Baby Israel affectionately looking up to the camera at his mother.
Congrats to these new mommys!
