Jenny from the block is ready to get another rock—this time from her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.
The singer, songwriter and actress Jennifer Lopez sat down with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to talk about her latest single, "El Anillo" (the ring). She told Fallon that the song is all about women getting ready to get engaged and looking for an engagement ring from their significant other.
“Alex, are you watching? Hello!” Fallon said after the 48-year-old explained the meaning behind the tune.
“No pressure!” Lopez quickly added. “The song is definitely about that, it is, but I felt like it was kind of something that all women get to a point where they say, ‘Ok, what’s up?’ [points to ring finger] Like, we’re good, everything’s great, what’s going on? Am I staying or am I [going]?’”
Lopez added that she doesn't think it should take too long to figure out if your partner is the one for marriage (Lopez has been married three previous times.)
“I feel like you know fairly quickly, so the rest is just you being scared and whatever,” she said. “But don’t go by me! I’ve made tons of mistakes.”
The couple stunned at the Met Gala on Monday, where Lopez donned a show-stopping Balmain gown. During the interview, Fallon also asked about what kind of proposal she would want, bringing up the Met Gala proposal (well, second proposal) between rapper 2 Chainz and Kesha Ward.
“I think I would want it to be a tiny bit more intimate,” she said when asked if shed’ like something similar. “But you know what, this is amazing, I’m sure she had a Cinderella moment.”
