The Bahamas beach getaway, the sunset photos, the jaw-dropping ring—Jennifer Lopez is finally talking about her reaction to Alex Rodriguez's surprise proposal a few weeks ago. Spoiler alert: She's absolutely thrilled.

In a recent interview with People, both J.Lo and A-Rod gushed about their new engagement for the first time and described what they're looking forward to as they plan their new life together. The couple is getting married after two years of dating, and they both excitedly shared the news on Instagram after A-Rod popped the big question. And he didn't just propose: He planned a few sweet gestures, in addition to presenting J.Lo with that massive 15-carat sparkler.

“We’re really happy,” Lopez said about the engagement. A-Rod added, “We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most."

They also revealed that they're even collaborating on a few projects together—because the couple who works together, stays together. They shared that they are both new ambassadors for the eyewear company Quay Australia, and each of them have their very own collection of sunglasses for the brand. It probably helps that they showed off what good eyewear models they are in the Bahamas!

During photo shoots for the brand, J.Lo and A-Rod said that they had their kids come down to visit as they seamlessly blend their families together.

“Everything that we do, we do together,” Lopez said about A-Rod. “He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we’re stronger.”

The comments come just after the two of them were spotted out and about in Manhattan this week, with J.Lo sporting the enormous diamond in public. They were both beaming and clearly still basking in that post-engagement glow.

“We’re constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavors and thinking about all the things that we can build together,” Lopez told People. Rodriguez chimed in to say, “We are very grateful.”
