While it’s pretty clear things are all good in paradise, a.k.a. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's relationship, a certain someone has been rooting against them from the time they got engaged—which was already a month ago!
Just a day after the news broke of their proposal, Jose Conseco, a fellow former MLB player, claimed on Twitter that A-Rod was in fact cheating on J.Lo. “Watching World of Dance watching J.Lo text Alex Rodriguez little does she know that he is cheating on her with my ex-wife Jessica,” he said. “Poor girl she has no idea who he really is.”
The news was definitely alarming, but Conseco’s ex-wife Jessica chimed in a couple days later to clear her name and set the record straight, putting fans at ease.
“Those false accusations Jose is making are not true!” Jessica wrote. “I have known Alex for many years and haven’t even seen him for over 5. I certainly did not sleep with him. I am friendly with both him and Jennifer. As for Jose he can keep playing with his Alien friends.” (For his part, Conseco doubled down on allegations, offering to take a polygraph test to prove the claims.)
J.Lo and A-Rod have taken the higher road since, but the singer is finally addressing the unpleasant rumors. Per E!News, Lopez appeared on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club on Wednesday where host Charlamagne tha God brought up the accusations. "You had a hater right after your engagement though," he mentioned.
J.Lo naturally kept it real with her response. "It doesn't matter,” she said. “I know what truth is. I know who he is. He knows who I am. We're just happy. We're not going to let other people come out and tell us what our relationship is. I know what our relationship is."
Hopefully that's enough to silence the haters once and for all.
