It’s been four months since news broke of Jennifer Lawrence's engagement to New York City art gallerist Cooke Maroney, but the Oscar winner has largely avoided discussion of her fiancé—until now, that is!
The actress, 28, has finally (finally!) broken her silence about her future husband, explaining the simple reason she chose to say “Yes!” when he proposed to her.
"Well, he's just the best person I've ever met in my whole life," she gushed to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Dark Phoenix in L.A. on Tuesday, June 4. "It was a very, very easy decision."
Maroney, 34, popped the question to the actress with a stunning emerald-cut diamond ring set on a thin gold band. It came after less than a year of dating—the pair first sparked romance rumors in June 2018.
But they say when you know, you know, and Lawrence seems to be on cloud nine. Just last month, she celebrated her impending nuptials at an engagement party with pals—including Emma Stone—in a jaw-dropping L. Wells Bridal gown featuring a plunging V-neck, paired with Fred Leighton jewels and a low messy bun.
The Hunger Games alum has also gotten a jump start on her wedding planning, touring possible venues in NYC with her fiancé this past April.
According to People, the couple’s big day will likely be focused on their families. “I would be surprised if the wedding were not a fairly extensive family affair,” a source told the magazine at the time.
