Friends forever? Former costars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow partied the night away at Jennifer Aniston's wedding to Justin Theroux last week, but fans of the beloved NBC sitcom couldn't help but wonder where the three guys from the group were. As it turns out, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) had something to say about their absence.
The two confirmed at a Television Critics Association press event in Los Angeles on Monday that they weren't invited to the backyard nuptials. Still, LeBlanc made it clear that he holds no hard feelings about being left off of the guest list. "I think they're a great couple. I think she's happy. And that's all I care about is that Jen's happy," he told People at the event. "If she wanted me there, I would have been there."
Despite the fact that he wasn't invited, he noted that he still sees Aniston and the rest of the cast as family. "Jen's like my little sister," he said. "Courteney [Cox] and Lisa [Kudrow] are like my big sisters, but Jen's like my little sister. Matthew's like my little brother, and David [Schwimmer]'s like my big brother. That's how it all broke down. And it's literally just like chronological."
Meanwhile, Perry was as surprised as the rest of us at the secret wedding. "It was a surprise to me as well," he said. "They're a lovely couple, and I'm happy for them."
For his part, LeBlanc had a funny story to tell about Aniston's first wedding to Brad Pitt in 2000. "I missed when she married Brad," he said. "I was in Austria working. She called me, and she was like, 'You're really not coming to my wedding?' And I was like, 'I asked them if they could change the schedule. I would fly and clap and fly out.' And they said, 'We can't do it. It's too tight.' It was a small-budget movie in Austria you've never heard of. Probably should have left anyway, but s— happens. What are you going to do?"
