Two years ago, Justin Theroux celebrated his 41st birthday by proposing to his girlfriend of a year, Jennifer Aniston. This year, he's ringing in 43 in an even better way — soaking up the sun in Bora Bora with his beautiful fiancé.
Theroux, who's starring in the HBO series The Leftovers, and Aniston headed off to the gorgeous, honeymoon-worthy island a few days ago for a weeklong vacation to mark two important milestones.
"It [was] a romantic trip to celebrate their engagement anniversary and Justin's birthday," a source told People. "It's their first vacation together in Bora Bora and they were excited about the trip."
The engaged couple is reportedly staying in a bungalow at the Four Seasons that was perched on stilts above the water, and have spent their time sunbathing and catching up on their reading.
That exotic kind of lodging is incredibly popular in the Tahitian isles, especially at the hotels favored by honeymooners. Though Aniston often jets off to Mexico with Theroux or pals, this far-off getaway is likely a nice way for them to spend some real alone time together.
As they head into their third year of engagement, Theroux and Aniston seem to be as happy as ever. According to People, Theroux surprised Aniston during a July 28 event at stylist Chris McMillan's hair salon.
"Jen had no idea that he was stopping by and she squealed with excitement when she saw him," said a source. "They genuinely looked very happy together. They kissed hello and Jen almost got flustered. You could tell that she really liked having Justin there. Justin kept smiling at her excitement. He was very sweet to her."
While wedding plans are still in the works, so are their intense work schedules, yet the couple continues to make an effort to stay close, the insider also told People. "Despite their long engagement, they do seem very happy together. Jen is just happy to be sharing her life with Justin."
