It can be stressful enough meeting your future in-laws for the first time, let alone introducing them to your own family members. Newlyweds Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson didn’t sweat it, however. In fact, the couple recently revealed that they waited until their actual wedding day to make introductions between their parents!

“It was like a West Side Story,” two-time Mirrorball champ Chmerkovskiy, 33, told Us Weekly earlier this week. “Our families have never met prior in their entirety.”

The couple told the outlet that everything went just swimmingly—Johnson, 25, who has been dating her now-husband since 2015, even went so far as to call it “incredible.”

“I was emotional the whole time because it was all of my favorite people in one place just with our families, and then our friends, and then our coworkers,” she said. “I literally think about the day every day.”

The Dancing With the Stars castmates wed in a gorgeous oceanfront ceremony at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palo Verdes, California, on April 13.

In addition to their parents, the couple hosted a slew of fellow DWTS costars and alumni at their nuptials, including Nikki Bella, Candace Cameron Bure, Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, and Alan Bersten (just to name a few). Adam Rippon and Lindsay Arnold also served as members of Jenna’s bridal party.

Less than a week later, the twosome was soaking up the sun on the beach on their honeymoon on St. Lucia island in the Caribbean.

Next up for the happy couple? Perhaps the pitter-patter of little feet!

Johnson dished about the possibility of becoming a mom to Us. “We talk about family every day. We want babies,” she confirmed. “I come from a very big family and I know that this guy wants kids. So, we’ll have them someday.”

She added: “If he will treat our kids the way he treats our little dog, they’re going to be the most spoiled precious babies in the world.”

Of that, we have no doubt.
