While many hoped that Bachelor host Chris Harrison would be tapped to officiate Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti’s wedding, the Bachelor in Paradise couple just revealed they are going in a different direction.

Haibon took to Instagram Wednesday to share that fellow Paradise alum Tanner Tolbert will be doing the honors. Haibon and Iaconetti were on vacation in Puerto Rico with Tolbert; his wife, Jade Roper; and their daughter, Emerson, when they paused the fun to get some practice in for the nuptials.

“Dearly beloved, @tanner.tolbert is officiating our wedding in August 2019,” Haibon captioned a picture of himself and his bride-to-be standing across from each other as if they were at the altar. Tolbert stood behind them holding his hands together and pretending to read from them. “This is a preview of things to come.”

Tolbert confirmed the news on his own Instagram by sharing the same photo with the caption, “Who cries the most at their wedding? Jared, Ashley, or me???”

Tolbert might seem like a random choice, but who would be better to solidify their union than someone who really gets it? Tolbert got engaged to Roper on Bachelor in Paradise so they totally understand Haibon and Iaconetti’s romantic journey and admire their love. “We love you @ashley_iaconetti and @jaredhaibon!!” Roper wrote on Instagram last month. “You know we’ve been rooting for this relationship since we all became friends, and we are so excited for everything your future together holds! Also, Emmy says she’s expecting little friends to play with very soon!!”

Hopefully Iaconetti and Haibon are feeling a bit more relaxed after selecting their officiant and a wedding date of August 2019. When the couple first started planning they told Entertainment Tonight about how stressful the process was.

"It is crazy,” Iaconetti said. “It’s more stressful than we thought.”

Haibon added, “It’s a little surreal. It’s a little scary when you start to see the prices. You go wedding shopping and venue shopping and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, this is real and this is something we’re going to have to pay for,' so it’s a little nerve-wracking and super exciting.”

One thing we imagine is still on their to-do list is deciding if their wedding will be televised. The couple has already expressed that they would love to do a TV wedding, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
