Where do two Italians go to tie the knot? Capri, of course! After meeting in southern Italy at a Christmas party in 2010 and getting engaged during a surprise getaway to the Amalfi Coast in 2015, Annamaria Strangio and Luca Perone,an Italian-based couple, got to work planning a destination celebration on the island of Capri. "I've dreamed of getting married there ever since I was a little girl," Annamaria says.

On September 10, 2016, Annamaria and Luca invited 120 guests to witness their ceremony at a charming whitewashed church in town, which was following by a walk through the streets and a open-air reception on a cliff overlooking the sea. Needless to say, this beautiful destination wedding is full of striking photo ops (all taken by photographer Monica Leggio and designed by Cristina Ditta of The Wedding Care) that will convince you to book an off-season getaway to this picturesque Italian island—no summer crowds allowed.

We can’t get enough of the intricate beading on Annamaria’s Atelier Emé gown! She was stunning in the Italian label in a dress that featured a blush underlay with lace details and a sheer neckline. "I felt so beautiful and I felt like myself at the same time," she says. "I had no doubt—it was the One!" (Her friends and wedding planner also helped secure the decision as every single person cried when they saw it for the first time!)

The bride went classic with her accessories, opting for timeless nude Christian Louboutin pumps. She embraced her natural curls, accenting them with fresh pink blooms, and finished her makeup with a punchy red lip. Her bouquet mixed David Austin roses, astilbe, eryngium, and eucalyptus greens.

The groom wore head-to-toe Dolce and Gabbana, topped with a boutonniere of hypericum berries.

Annamaria and Luca wed in a traditional Catholic ceremony at Church of Santa Sofia. They decorated the inside and outside of the church with a pastel palette of delphinium, hydrangeas, David Austin roses, astilbe, and hypericum berries.

After the ceremony, the couple exited to guests tossing rice for good luck. From there, they took a walk through the streets from the church to their reception as well-wishers looked on and cheered for the happy couple!

Though the newlyweds opted to promenade on foot, they did have a cute getaway car on hand, just in case.

After an entertaining parade through Capri, everyone mingled on the pool deck at Lido del Faro before heading inside for dinner, where they ate locally caught fish."When we saw the Lido del Faro, it was love at first sight," Annamaria says. "It is located by the sea, and it's so suggestive and unique. Also the owner and manager, Nello, is the nicest person ever!"

With busy schedules, Annamaria and Luca admit that they were so grateful to have had a wedding planner who took care of every single detail. “My best advice is to hire a wedding planner like ours,” Annamaria says. “We were able to focus on our jobs and simply show up and enjoy all of the happiness and love.”
