About those Lena Dunham engagement rumors... they might (once again) be true! Less than a month after furiously denying that she and her musician boyfriend Jack Antonoff are engaged, she set off another firestorm of speculation at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend.
The source of the rumors? Dunham herself! The Girls creator referred to Rachel Antonoff, her boyfriend of three years' sister, as her "sister-in-law" at a Sundance party. Sure, Dunham is known for her close, practically familial relationships with friends, but this seems like more of a slip than a term of affection. Perhaps it was instead a purposeful attempt to get people talking?
A reporter was determined to get to the bottom of it, but came up empty handed. "I tried to get a quote from her but she kindly refused," she told the New York Post's Page Six. "She was talking about how everyone reacted to her statement as she exited the party."
We wouldn't be shocked if Dunham and Antonoff, the guitarist for fun. and The Bleachers, were offically set to marry. The first round of engagement rumors happened when she was spotted wearing what looked like an engagement ring. Though she clarified that the jewelry was simply a token of affection from one of her female friends, there is so much proof of her love for Antonoff in her book Not That Kind of Girl that we have no doubt that they'll be together for a very long time.
Regardless, an engagement wouldn't exactly signify an impending wedding — like Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, Dunham once said that she wouldn't get married until same-sex marriage is legal nationwide.
