You and your fiancé will have to decide among a few important things when it comes to your wedding reception. Besides the venue, catering, and seating arrangements, you're going to have to think about the entertainment. With a variety of things to choose from, you and your fiancé might have trouble agreeing on one thing. What if your future husband wants to cut costs by having an iPod playlist instead of a DJ, but you feel strongly that a live entertainer makes the party? Our etiquette expert weighs in.
Talk with your fiancé on what kind of reception you want. If you both want a 'dance-all-night' party, getting a DJ might be your best bet. DJs have an advantage over an iPod: They can adjust the mood of all the guests almost immediately. They can also hype up the crowd with their emcee skills. Let your fiancé know that. He might be more willing to spend the extra cash.

Now if you don't go with a DJ and go with the DIY playlist, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just going to take a little more time and planning. You have to think about which songs you want to include, how many songs you need, and which songs are appropriate for each part of the ceremony.
No matter what you and your fiancé choose to do, get out there and dance yourselves. If you're having a great time, your guests will too.
