You may recall that two sets of identical twins (two brothers and two sisters) got engaged back in February. Fast forward six months, and the two sets of twins (who met at the 2017 Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio, last year) tied the knot in a joint wedding at the 2018 Twins Day Festival—and as you can imagine, everyone was seeing double.

On Saturday, Brittany and Briana Deane (now Salyers) wed Josh and Jeremy Salyers in a ceremony themed "Twice Upon a Time." Naturally, the couples were wed by identical twin ministers.

“It’s really been a fairy tale come true. Marrying twins is something that’s very important to us,” Briana (who married Jeremy) told People. “Even when we were little girls I can remember being in kindergarten, knowing that that is what we saw for ourselves.”

Her sister, Brittany, added, “We knew that the chances were incredibly scarce. The stars had to align for our dreams to come true. I get to marry the man of my dreams and at the same time I get to look over next to me and see my twin sister marrying the man of her dreams.”

The two sets of siblings first met at the Twinsburg fest a year ago and fell in love shortly after. “I remember vividly the first time Brittany and I saw Josh, and Jeremy at the twins festival,” Briana said of their first encounter. “I also remember the first time we all spoke the last night of the festival. It’s sort of like everything was in slow motion.”

And while the twin sisters had always wanted to marry twin brothers, Josh and Jeremy said they wouldn't even get married if it wasn't with two identical twin sisters.

“If they couldn’t find identical twin girls that matched up well with them, they were never getting married,” Brittany says. “I think that they experienced a lot of the same challenges dating what we call singletons, that means non-twins. It’s hard when you’re dating someone and they don’t understand the twin bond.”

For the ceremony, the brides wore identical off-the-shoulder gowns with trumpet silhouettes and long, embellished veils. The grooms also matched, wearing the same black tux and thin black tie. TLC will reportedly air the wedding in early 2019, giving viewers an inside look into the couples' relationships over their wedding year.

For the two Salyer couples, the excitement is far from over. Next on the to-do list? Starting identical-looking families.

"When we have children, my and Josh’s children will be genetic siblings to Briana and Jeremy’s children,” Brittany said. “Even though they’re cousins, they’re technically genetic siblings. We imagine it will be like two moms and two dads all raising our families together.”
