The Bride: Sabrina Gagnon, a 24-year-old teacher
Her Gown: Reem Acra
Her Story: "My wedding coordinators suggested I go to the Bride's Room in Wheeling. It's a sample shop that sells sale couture designer gowns. I knew I wanted either a strapless or V-neck neckline but definitely a dropped waist, which is hard to find. Together with the owner we decided on strapless. She showed me a few gowns that were pretty but nothing that was the one for me. Then she pulled out a Reem Acra gown that had the most beautiful train but not so attractive bodice. While it wasn't at all what I wanted, I thought I should give it a try because it had a dropped waist.
After trying it on, I decided to purchase it and then bring it to a tailor who could make it into the gown of my dreams. The tailor was great. She made a few alterations to the gown and expertly reworked the top. I loved how she opened up the back and added the lace. The best part of all was that it cost us next to nothing—only a few hundred dollars. And I also ended up with a gorgeous couture gown that I could call custom-made!" —Ashley Moore
