Stop in the name of love! Vidal Valladares Navas, who allegedly stopped traffic on one of Texas's busiest highways on Sunday, is facing misdemeanor charges after trying to propose to his girlfriend, Michelle Wycoff, in the middle of rush hour!
The car-stopping romantic gesture was confirmed to have shut down Interstate 45 for more than 30 seconds, a Houston police spokesman told People. The incident gave police just enough time to convict Navas with some very unlucky misdemeanor charges.
An off-duty officer who allegedly witnessed the proposal gone awry had worked with Houston detectives to further investigate the show-stopping scene. A video of the traffic-stopping uproar had been posted to Instagram but has since been removed, but the Youtube video entitled "Idiot Shuts Down a Major Highway for Marriage Proposal" is still very much up and running (see video above).
The question on everyone's mind...did she say yes? Even though the judgment behind the bended-knee moment is somewhat questionable, Wycoff's answer definitely was not, after she accepted her longtime love's weighted offer. The spokesman also confirmed that Wycoff is not expected to face any criminal charges. Unfortunately, if her new fiancé is convicted of a misdemeanor, he could spend up to six months behind bars.
One proposal that managed to raise the bar — instead of end up behind it — when it comes to popping the question, was an Alaskan man that was full of major puppy love! Shane Moffs went the extra mile when proposing to his sweetheart, Shelby Turner, by delivering more than just a milestone message. Moffs surprised his love with a chocolate lab puppy carrying a very special something on the pup's collar. The adorable video shows Turner, who was completely oblivious to the engagement ring dangling from her new puppy' neck, couldn't help but cry tears of joy! Moffs, who had to repeatedly say, "Read the name tag," in order to get his very important message across, managed to successfully get the girl, and the puppy.
Now that's a proposal we can get behind!
