H&M has answered all of our wedding-day prayers with its latest Conscious Exclusive collection. (OK, OK, maybe not all, but certainly some of the most major of big-day woes.) As part of its latest collection, H&M has debuted an eco-friendly wedding dress for the bride on a budget.
Whether for wedding dresses or everyday clothes, the trend for sustainable fashion has been growing exponentially of late. Stars like Emma Watson and Emma Roberts and designers such as Stella McCartney are all promoting eco-friendly practices. Watson has been famously promoting her sustainable fashion choices on the Beauty and the Beast press tour through the tour's Instagram account @the_press_tour, while Roberts participated in the Red Carpet Green Dress campaign at the Oscars this year in a gorgeous Armani Privé gown. What’s more, Rooney Mara attended this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Party wearing a dress from this very not-yet-released H&M Conscious Exclusive collection.

H&M says that “every piece is made from sustainable materials, including BIONIC®—a polyester made of plastics recycled from shoreline waste.” And with offerings for men, women, and children, you could dress your entire wedding party (and guests!) from the expansive eco-friendly collection.
Though the collection spans everything from gowns fit for a bride to fishnet bags “made entirely from recycled shoreline waste,” one white tulle maxi immediately caught our eye. Featuring a deep V-neck front with illusion paneling on the chest, a sleeveless silhouette, and a cascading tulle skirt, no detail was overlooked. We’re especially in love with the pleated silk waistline that adds that little something extra-special.
With the disappearance of affordable bridal lines such as J.Crew, we love that brands such as H&M (and also Topshop) have jumped into the market to provide us with looks for the whole bridal party that won’t totally blow our entire budget.
Head of design and creative director Pernilla Wohlfahrt spoke of the collection, saying, “For this year’s Conscious Exclusive collection at H&M, we thought not only about the look of the pieces, but also how they feel and sound. It’s a collection to please all our senses, and also our desire to be sustainable in everything we do.” Although you can’t shop the looks today, they will go on sale beginning April 20. Mark your calendars and get shopping—this is definitely a bridal selection you’re going to want to try. See some of our favorite looks, below.
