Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt welcomed their first child together on October 1. Us Weekly confirmed that Montag gave birth to a healthy baby boy, born at 3:06 p.m., weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring 19 inches long. "We are so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby boy," Montag told Us Weekly. "It was the hardest and most rewarding experience." Pratt, always one for a memorable quote, said it was "Officially the most lit day of my life." The new father immediately took to Twitter to express his joy, saying he can't wait for his son "to feed hummers" (a recent obsession of Spencer's is to feed hummingbirds), and announce his name, Gunner Stone Pratt. He also added that there were $27,000 worth of crystals at the birth.
Speidi first announced that they were expecting back in April. Pratt told Us Weekly at the time that he was just getting out of bed at his Santa Barbara, California, beach house when he saw Montag "just standing there." "The look on her face, I can’t even describe it," he said. "She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread." Turns out, she had a bun—not muffins—in the oven.
Montag, 31, said at the time that she is glad she waited until they were a bit older to have children. "I wanted a baby three years ago. Spencer was a little hesitant. Then one thing after another came up. We had work obligations, like Celebrity Big Brother in the U.K., which I did not want to be pregnant for. I’m actually really thankful we waited," she said. "I thought I was ready in my 20s, but with everything we had going on, it just wouldn’t have been a good situation for us."
Stars of The Hills have had quite a baby boom recently. Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, and Audrina Patridge have all given birth in the past two years. Pratt, naturally, thinks they should all have filmed playdates. "Liam, Sonny. We got the whole squad. I'm hoping they get their own series—The Hills Nickelodeon," he said. That's one reboot we could definitely get behind.
