In case you were wondering how newlyweds Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber née Baldwin have been faring as husband and wife following their whirlwind engagement, the recent bride had one incredibly honest thing to say: It's "scary." But, don't jump to trouble-in-paradise conclusions just yet; she cites multiple factors, including her age.
Chatting with fellow model Kendall Jenner during Jenner's Valentine's Day Beats1 radio show, the newly-minted Bieber got real about tying the knot as a 22-year-old. "It's definitely scary to be this young and be married," she said. "It's a scary thing, but it's also the person that I've literally been in love with for so many years."
The couple met for the first time in 2009, thanks to an introduction from the model's father. After an almost decade-long friendship, a 12-week romance and an impromptu two-month long engagement last July, the lovebirds headed to the New York City Marriage Bureau. Both have teased a traditional wedding ceremony in the future, but the City Hall marriage formalities already seem to be itching at Bieber.
"I think the forever aspect for me is just like, you don't think about that until you get married. And then you're like, okay, this is really like, this is forever," she further confided in Jenner. "Meaning like, there is no end." (Ironically, she used the trepidatious F-word in her V-Day Instagram shoutout to her spouse today, writing, "I get to be his valentine forevaaa evaaa????")
Another point of consternation? The fact that she's never had any serious relationships before her spouse. "I went from being a baby, not having a lot of experience, to being married," Hailey said.
Tying the knot so early isn't uncommon in the Baldwin clan, though. "My sister was 24 when she got married, and my parents also got married when they were young, too," Bieber's bride explained to The Cut last September. And, despite the wake-up call that has apparently been her marriage, the star still chose to take on her new hubby's last name. Interestingly enough, the two also opened up to Vogue about waiting until marriage to have sex and that being one of the reasons for the sudden wedding. . .
