With just four short months until her wedding day, Olympic Gymnast Shawn Johnson is "in full-blown planning mode." Her upcoming nuptials to NFL player Andrew East will be happening in a Nashville ceremony in April.
"We have a venue, we sent out save-the-dates, I have my dress designed, he has his suit designed — it's good," the former Dancing With the Stars champion told Today. "It's kind of every girl's dream to go through all the magazines and look at all the wedding dress books. It's fun."
Johnson and East are prepping for a 350-person affair and reveals the guest list includes an eclectic mix of people. "We have NFL guys, Olympic gymnasts, athletes, Dancing With the Stars [contestants], actors, kind of everybody!" Johnson said.
Johnson is definitely a lucky girl, not only is East an adorable fiancé but has been totally hands on with the wedding planning. "He goes to the meetings and the tastings. He did the menu, pretty much." Earlier in November, Johnson spilled to People that the menu will definitely fit the southern setting of Nashville. "We're going to have fried chicken and waffles and tacos and really fun, different stuff," Johnson said.

Although the couple's invite list is nearly 400, the bride-to-be doesn't want an extravagant event. "It's going to be informal and quirky rather than it being a grand affair. We don't envision the Cinderella story at all," Johnson said.
Marrying a professional athlete has a bit of a downside though; Johnson reveals she and East haven't been able to plan their honeymoon yet because the NFL star will be heading to training camp right after the wedding. Hopefully the busy lovebirds will at least be able to squeeze in a quick mini-moon after the "I dos"!
Since the engagement, Johnson has partnered with WeddingWire to launch the site's #justsaidyes campaign that celebrates couples' engagement stories. Since Johnson had such a memorable engagement herself, we couldn't think of a more perfect pairing!
Johnson and East got engaged last July when the football player dropped to one knee in the middle of Wrigley Field, surprising the gymnast in front of the cheering crowd. The Olympian was walking off the field after throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the Cubs vs. Phillies game when her boyfriend surprised her with a ring.
Soon after, the bride-to-be couldn't help but gush over her fiancé and how her years in the spotlight helped her figure out he was the one. "Throughout my career in gymnastics and on Dancing With The Stars it seemed like every guy I met was more interested in that world than who I really am, but Andrew is just about as traditional and old school as you get. From the first day I met him he genuinely wanted to know who I was and not what the world had made of me," She told Today.
