Gwyneth Paltrow is living proof that you can get that young-and-in-love feeling at any age. The Goop founder—who got engaged to director and producer Brad Falchuk late last year and announced it to the world on the cover of the Sex & Love issue of Goop magazine—is ecstatic about starting to plan her wedding. In fact, the process is making the 45-year-old feel 21 again.
“I’m excited about everything!” Paltrow told PeopleStyle. “I’ve never had a wedding before. So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”
Paltrow was previously married to Chris Martin of Coldplay, but the two eloped in 2003, so Paltrow never got to have a big wedding with all the trimmings. It sounds like this time around, the bride-to-be will make the occasion a little more formal.
“It’s kind of fun to talk about with my girlfriends,” Paltrow said. “They send me pictures of dresses. They’re as excited about it as I am. It’s pretty cute.”
But it’s pretty much all talk and no planning for now. Paltrow told PeopleStyle that they’ve yet to make formal plans, and though she has hinted at what her big day might look like, don’t expect anything too big!
“I think I’m [too] old to have a big wedding and a big ol’ white dress and all that,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I gotta dial it back.”
Paltrow might be saying that now, but her super-sized sparkler of an engagement ring indicates the opposite of a low-key event. Falchuk gave his fiancée a stunningly massive blue sapphire set on a diamond band. If this is “dialing it back,” we expect nothing short of an extravagant wedding from Paltrow.
While we all wait for the queen of Goop to confirm more of her wedding details, she has also somewhat hinted at what her manicure will look like on the big day. (It’s never too early to start thinking about big-day manis!) She said her daughter, Apple, is always teasing her for only ever wearing one of two nail-polish colors: pale pink or red.
“I think pale pink is a classic color, and it’s appropriate for anything from a school function to black tie,” she explained to PeopleStyle.
Pale pink is also totally bridal, so she can’t go wrong. We approve, Paltrow, we approve....
