Hollywood's failed romances just suck, especially for us fans. While we'd love it if on our favorite former It Couple reconciled, that's just not how life works. And recently, the same rang true for a hopeful fan who asked Gwyneth Paltrow if she would ever consider getting back together with ex-fiancé Brad Pitt, to whom she was engaged when she was 24.
The actress held a Goop Facebook Q&A earlier this month when she received the fan question. Safe to say she didn't hold back. "Someone wants Brad Pitt and I to get back together. I think that ship has sailed, Corey," Paltrow said.
There ya have it.
The couple dated for three years before they went their separate ways in 1997, but looking back, the 44-year-old says nothing but good things about her former love. No bitter ex on this side.
"I was such a kid, I was 22 when we met," she told Howard Stern in 2015. "It's taken me until 40 to get my head out of my a**. You can't make that decision when you're 22 years old, you know?...I think I was a kid and I wasn't ready, and he was too good for me."
"I definitely fell in love with him," she continued. "He was so gorgeous, and sweet—I mean, he was Brad Pitt, you know?"
Fast forward, Paltrow is now happily dating American Horror Story writer an producer Brad Falchuk. A few months back, rumor had it that the couple is talking marriage.
"They speak about marriage all the time and know it’ll happen," the source previously revealed to Us Weekly, adding that the 46-year-old is expected to propose "soon." "He'll do it when the time is right," reports Us. "When he does, of course she'll say yes. Her kids love him and think he's the best."
