Another day, another baffling (if undeniably intriguing) beauty product. Groupon has revealed plans to launch a prosecco-flavored nail polish. Per an ad released by the company, Prosecco Polish has the distinct honor of being "the world's first edible prosecco-flavored nail polish." Yes, you heard us. That means you can throw all of that inedible prosecco-flavored nail polish you've been hoarding right in the trash.
The glam varnish is being introduced by Groupon in time for Mother's Day—guess we know what you'll be wearing to brunch with your mom. Prosecco Polish is even made with real prosecco, and, unlike the drink, the polish also zero calories. Rarely has a nail-biting habit been so appetizing.
In addition to promising the taste and smell of real prosecco, Prosecco Polish also has the gold, flake-infused sparkly look of the bubbly alcoholic drink. There are, however, some caveats to the innovation. For one, the temptation to lick your fingers excessively seems like a real threat here, so the possession of buckets of self-restraint is a prerequisite for purchase. For two, Prosecco Polish is not technically actually available for purchase. Instead, Groupon is giving away bottles of the good to those who enter and win a sweepstakes. And, in further bummer news, for now the Prosecco Polish is only shipping to people with U.K. addresses. Don't fret though—there's little that a steady wave of user demand can't fix.
Just as an official warning though, you can't actually chug the stuff —The website for the product specifies as much in all-caps, so make sure you have a bottle of the real 21+ stuff on-hand. But at least these are paint fumes we can believe in.
