Can this mark the end of the dubious tradition of outrageous wedding reception entrances? The YouTube age has created a trend of increasingly over-the-top ways to make an entrance, from coordinated dances to full-on skits. A new viral wedding video that shows a bridesmaid and groomsman entrance gone terribly, terribly wrong, however may just be impetus for this fad to take a bow.
In the clip above, the duo march into the reception, dancing away to upbeat party music. As the bridesmaid busts a move, the groomsman takes things to the next level, backflipping onto the dance floor — and into the unsuspecting woman, knocking her down. Not only does she take an embarrassing tumble, she knocks over a flower arrangement on her way down.
The worst part? She collapses again as the groomsman and another guest try to help her get up. The video cuts out then, hopefully because the cameraman rushed to help. Mashable reports that Mike Lee, who uploaded the video to YouTube, has yet to respond on whether any medical attention was required.
We hope that the woman in question walked away with only a bruised ego! While we love creative touches in every part of a wedding, keep this in mind, future bridal party members who want to have a little fun with their moment in the spotlight: Acrobatics are only impressive when you (or people nearby) aren't wearing a long dress and heels. At the very least, talk it out with your partner in advance!
