When it comes to wedding planning, there are many horrifying nightmares and "What Ifs" that may keep a bride (and groom) up at night. Among them could be: Losing or ruining your wedding dress, tripping as you walk down the aisle, your groom saying the wrong name at the alter (*a la * Ross from Friends) — this list could go on and on. But one viral video making its way around the Internet is the worst of them all.
Imagine: You're enjoying the revelry of your reception, chatting up friends and family, and basking in the fact that this is the best day of your life. Then, as your wedding cake is carried out — you know, the one you spent months fawning over and fantasizing about — the server drops it to the ground, taking its deliciously crafted fondant frosting (and all of your dreams) with it.
That's exactly what happened to English bride Laura Cox, except it gets worse — the fall was a total prank planned by her now-husband Joe Cox. The groom hired two "waiters" to play the prank on his bride. In the video, you can hear plates crashing off camera, only for one of the hired pranksters to push the other and drop the duplicate cake (which, for the record, cost Joe $520, nearly the same amount they paid for their actual wedding cake!).
"It was a great touch to the wedding, Laura didn't suspect a thing at all," Joe told the Daily Mail. "Her face when she thought the waiter had dropped the cake was a picture. Then the waiters burst into song and I started laughing when Laura looked over at me. She then knew it was all a setup."
Laura totally fell for the trick. "If I'm being completely honest, I was absolutely gobsmacked when it happened right before my eyes," she said of the prank. "I realized I'd been well and truly pranked. It's just like Joe to think of something like that, he is a big joker around the house."
What a crazy way to entertain your guests and bride! Watch how the full prank went down, above.
