Engagement parties typically run the gamut from low-key backyard get-togethers to chic restaurant takeovers, but neither scenario came remotely close to bride-to-be Thassia Naves' pre-wedding celebration. The global influencer, who totes a remarkable 3.1 million Instagram followers, spared no expense throwing the most epic engagement party in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil. In fact, the event was so extravagant that the future bride spread it out over two days.
In a celebration that rivals most weddings in all their entirety, Naves, fiancé Artur Attie Akl, and 120 guests kicked off the festivities Friday, November 9, with welcome drinks at the Fazenda Boa Vista. "[It] reminded me of growing up in the countryside, so it felt so special and was very beautiful," Naves explains of the venue. She also added that she "always wanted to get married in the countryside," so perhaps the engagement party will foreshadow the actual wedding.
Naves donned a Dior dress with Goldesign jewelry for day one of the event, and decorated the space with a "Love never fails" neon sign.
The exorbitant bash continued into the following day for lunch and an evening party. "I wanted to create a lovely event in the countryside, and as it was positioned further away, I wanted my guests to be comfortable to stay over the weekend," Naves explains of the decision to spread the affair out over two days.
During the latter portion of the party, the couple pulled out allllll the bridal stops. For the soirée that looked straight-up like a wedding itself, Naves changed into a white Dolce & Gabbana frock and accessorized with jewels from Flavia Vetorasso Siarra.
The bride-to-be used Paris Fashion Week as the prime opportunity to hunt for her engagement party looks. "I wear a lot of lace and embroidery dresses in all kind of styles, but for the special weekend I wanted to wear something that emulated the love and care I have with my fiancé Artur," says Naves of both celebratory frocks.
As if the dress wasn't enough to give off all the wedding vibes, an abundance of lush, colorful florals also took over the outdoor space. "I am obsessed with all kinds of flowers, so of course I wanted to implement them as a feature all over the venue to create a special atmosphere, and to perfectly match with the natural scenery of the location," Naves explains. Even the (multiple!) cakes, bar, and table setups reflected her apparent affinity for fresh blooms.
As to be expected, Naves admits that the party planning was "very busy and crazy." But, with this experience under her belt, along with helping organizing her sister's nuptials prior, she's well on her way to being a wedding planning pro. With an engagement party this over-the-top setting the tone, we're looking forward to what the big day will bring.
