If you follow beauty guru Gigi Gorgeous, you know she's extra in the most fabulous way. So, it should come as no surprise that this weekend, when she married her long-time partner Nats Getty, she went all out with a stunning, over-the-top beach-front wedding that was perfectly Gigi.
Gigi had already signaled that she was planning to go big. "We are obviously going to have an extravagant wedding,” she told People in 2018 after she got engaged in Paris. And it seems she delivered: Gigi and Getty celebrated at the Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California on Friday. The event, which was planned and officiated by Mindy Weiss, was elaborate and filled with all-white and light pink rose accents. They walked down an all-white aisle lined with romantic trees, designed by Mark's Garden Los Angeles. For the reception, they had dramatic table settings, brimming with baroque candles and white flowers.
The couple invited about 220 guests, who included other celebs and YouTube influencers such as Caitlyn Jenner, Kandee Johnson, Hannah Hart, and Teri Hatcher. They had singer Bonnie McKee and the band Everyday People perform live for attendees.
Because of Gigi's profile as a model and make-up artist, fans were eager to see her bridal look. She had said in the interview with People that her dress would be major: "I’m only going to be able to do it once and that is just my personality, so in a dream world I would have the biggest wedding on Earth with a Princess Diana-level dress." Gigi worked with Project Runway alum Michael Costello and had him come up with not just one fairytale design, but two other outfits that she changed into throughout the night. She had Hilary Montez do her make-up (we're guessing she didn't want to worry about doing it herself), while Frankie Payne styled her hair into a glamorous, half-up and half-down hairdo with soft waves. Getty wore a white tuxedo that she designed herself through her fashion label Strike Oil, a nod to her family (she's the great-granddaughter of oil tycoon magnate J. Paul Getty.)
Gigi posted different images throughout the weekend, sharing a glimpse at her flowing rehearsal dinner dress and posting her pink nails on her Instagram stories.
A recent New York Times look into the wedding revealed a few more intimate details about the big day. Gigi walked down the aisle with her father to a violinist's take on Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me." The couple left a chair empty among their guests to honor Gigi's mother, who died seven years ago after a battle with leukemia. She began to cry when she was Getty, who shared a few of her vows with the publication.
“I vow to be yours forever, and I vow to be your person,” Getty said. “Gigi, the definition of love is what I feel for you. I vow that will never change. Baby, I love you, and thank you for choosing me.”
Gigi said during hers, "“I promise to be your shoulder to cry on. I promise to ask you and our friends and family for help when I need it. And most of all I promise to be your person. I love you, Nats. And with every beat of my heart, I will love you more and more.”
During the toast, they had a few additional celebs make an appearance: Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom left the couple a sweet recorded message.
“We just wanted to wish you all the best in the world for your wedding and for the decision you made to basically go through hell!” Perry joked during hers. “But at least you’re going to have someone to go through it together and be your mirror and call you out and keep you grounded. That’s the most important thing.” Bloom added, “Show us how it’s done.”
It's clear they both got the heartfelt, show-stopping wedding that they wanted.
