With George Clooney's wedding to fiancée Amal Alamuddin just a few short months away (the pair is reportedly set to wed in Italy in September), they're getting down to the brass tacks of wedding planning. And if Clooney's aunt is to be believed, the A-list actor has already selected a big name BFF to be his best man.
Clooney's Aunt Staria told the Daily Mail that she's pretty certain Brad Pitt will do the honors.
"I would say he'd choose Brad Pitt for his best man," Staria, who is married to Clooney's paternal uncle Joe Clooney, said. "They are good friends, I would think that's who he'd choose."
Though many expect that Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford's husband who is a business partner and neighbor to his close friend Clooney, would serve as best man, Pitt also makes a lot of sense. The handsome pals starred in the Oceans films together, and are known to trade barbs and pranks on a regular basis. Plus, they'd make for some amazing wedding photos, and who knows? Maybe Clooney will return the favor when Pitt finally marries Angelina Jolie!
As for Clooney and Alamuddin's wedding location, Staria said that Italy seemed right on the money. "I do know that Nick and Nina [George's parents] are planning a trip over to Italy in the next week or so to, I guess, scope out some stuff," she told the Daily Mail.
Thanks Staria for the candid wedding details — keep 'em coming!
