Amor is in the air for George Clooney and his fiancée, Amal Alamuddin. Just weeks after news of their engagement broke, the pair has jetted off to another exotic vacation: The couple traveled to Mexico to attend the May 10 wedding of Clooney's friends Thom Mathews and Karla Jensen.
According to People, Clooney and Alamuddin took a private jet to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last Thursday. They're reportedly enjoying an extended trip with friends at Clooney's home in the area, which he calls El Dorado. And as luck would have it, the getaway is coinciding with Clooney's 53rd birthday — not a bad way to celebrate.
If we had to guess, we'd say that this is also "research" for their own upcoming nuptials, which may happen in Cabo. Last week, Page Six sources said that if Clooney has his way, they'll cap off their whirlwind romance sooner rather than later, with a September wedding. "It's only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work," the insider revealed.
Not only is Mexico a wildly popular destination for honeymoons and destination weddings, Cabo itself is a particularly romantic spot for newlyweds. Perhaps it's time to double down on our wedding location guess.
For now though, it seems there's plenty of love and excitement in store for the notorious bachelor and the smart woman who finally got him to settle down.
