Good news cycle-obsessed brides-to-be: Flywheel is just as into your wedding workout as you are with the 5-Day a Week Bridal Workout Plan, created by Flywheel Master Trainer and Creative Director of the West Coast, Victor Self. Let's face it, starting a workout plan while you're wedding planning is not only good for the body but it's the best possible way to keep all of that wedding stress away. We chatted with Self to get the scoop on the new program, and why it's so right for brides-to-be. So throw on your cycling shoes and get ready to take your wedding workout plan up a major notch.
Flywheel's new 5-Day a Week Bridal Workout Plan has made getting healthy for your wedding as easy as can be. The 5-day plan makes it simple to either upgrade your existing workout plan or kick start a new one. Start by purchasing a Flywheel monthly membership (so you can get unlimited access to all the Flywheel and FlyBarre you can handle). According to Self, it all starts with creating the workout plan. “The key to transforming your body into the best shape of your life for your wedding day requires three simple actions: 1. Create a workout plan! 2. Stick to your plan! 3. Do something that is proven to work and that you enjoy!” Self shared with BRIDES. The workout plan Self recommends is beyond easy to follow.
The big key is booking 3 Flywheel and 2 FlyBarre classes a week, so that your week's workout looks like this:
Fly 45 Class: Flywheel's signature indoor cycling class. Seriously, 45 minutes, that's all it takes.
Fly 60: One day a week Self recommends pushing yourself with the Fly 60 class. Come on, it's only an extra 15 minutes.
Power 45 Class: FlyBarre's total body sculpting class with light weight training, and tons of core straightening for serious toning.
Rest days! Yeah right, more like wedding planning days.
But according to self there's a few things you should avoid when hitting the bike also! “Indoor Cycling is DEFINITELY a workout that EVERYONE, even a newbie, can do and enjoy. It's one of the best ways to burn calories and get into amazing shape IF you avoid the following!
Incorrect bike set-up! Having your bike set up improperly can make a 45-minute class feel like a lifetime. Get to class early and let the instructor help you set up your bike properly so you can have a great ride.
Easy Does It! Taking class is great and the energy of the group is incredibly motivating. Make sure you pace yourself and don't go so hard and intensely out of the gate that you burn yourself out in the warm-up!
Save your business for the boardroom! Give yourself 45-minutes to focus on YOU and what you're doing. Don't get distracted, listen to the instructor and let them help you escape into the ride and transform your fitness.
Come prepared! You need to hydrate BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your workout. Make sure your bring a water bottle to class and that you're wearing clothes that you can ride in comfortably.
3 class minimum! Your first ride might feel more challenging than you expected. That's why you should commit to taking AT LEAST 3 classes to jump start your introduction to indoor cycling.”
Brb, we're hitting the bike and the barre. See you at Flywheel brides-to-be.
