Reem Acra always inspires us with her whimsical details, gorgeous lace, and breathtaking silhouettes. This season, Acra continued to show dresses with expertly crafted embellishments, but also experimented with lace-y sheer layers in new ways, too.
Illusion and sheer layers aren't anything new, especially not to Reem Acra, but this season the weightless pieces felt a bit more ethereal than in the past. One princess-worthy strapless gown — with boning lining the bodice — had stunning lace appliqués tightly sewn onto the top of the dress, while on the skirt, they were separated with sections of translucent fabric, making the model's legs visible. This look is sexy, sweet, and oh-so on-trend — while still remaining timeless, of course.

A similarly darling A-line strapless number was entirely sheer. Atop the see-through exterior layer were three-dimensional floral appliqués dotted with rhinestones and beads. What romantic bride wouldn't fall hard for this light-as-air look? That's what we thought...
We can see that the designer played with sparkle too. In an Instagram posted by the bridal design house, beaded sheaths were also an item du jour for this season's range of gowns. As were bejeweled headphones and selfie sticks!
A few familiar styles, the illusion bodice with hand-embroidered lace and an illusion crop top, also made an appearance this go 'round.
