Olympic figure-skating pair Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim have won the gold at love. The married couple, who is the first to skate together for Team USA in 20 years, tied the knot in June 2016 after scoring their first national title. (Naturally, their coach was their officiant!) The duo also just had the coolest Valentine's Day date ever, as they took to the 2018 Winter Olympics rink to compete in the pairs short program on February 14 in PyeongChang, South Korea. And with their help, Team USA came away with the bronze medal in the figure-skating team event!

So, what's next for Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim? Their honeymoon!

Although the couple tied the knot almost two years ago, they never got to celebrate with a proper honeymoon. Two months after their wedding, Alexa was diagnosed with a debilitating gastrointestinal illness that left her at just 80 pounds and fighting for her life. Of course, her husband was right by her side, but with Alexa's health their main concern, a post-wedding getaway was pushed to the back burner.

After several surgeries and regaining her strength, Alexa and Chris's honeymoon was again delayed when training for the Olympics dominated their schedule. (Oh, you know, just your average honeymoon hinderance.) But once their time in PyeongChang, South Korea is complete, the couple is thinking of finally taking their post-"I do" vacay.

“After the Olympics, Alexa’s sister is getting married and we’re going on a cruise in Alaska,” Chris told Us Weekly. Alexa added, “Yeah, and then maybe after the Olympics we’ll take our honeymoon ‘cause we haven’t yet."

Chris agreed, saying, “That would be a good idea!” We'd say it is!

No word yet on where these two might go for their big getaway, but with a South Korea stamp already on their passports, we're sure it'll be another to-die-for destination. After all, with a wedding and a bronze medal to boast, the Knierims certainly have a lot to celebrate.
