Felicity Jones always stuns on the red carpet, consistently landing herself on best dressed lists. But her 2017 Oscar gown wows beyond the red carpet and the stage—and would make a gorgeous statement coming down the aisle as a wedding dress.
For the Academy Awards this year, Jones opted for a dreamy full-skirted Dior gown that gives off the most elegant ballerina bridal vibes. For starters, the dress is in the most flattering creamy nude shade—a lovely alternative to stark bridal white. The spaghetti straps and V-neckline offer a delicate sexiness while still being comfortable (a must on both the red carpet and a wedding day). And the tulle—the tulle!—is the real show-stopper: The fabric glistens with subtle gold appliqués for the tiniest hint of shimmer and sparkle, and its fullness reminiscent of a mix between a ballerina's tutu and a princess gown. What more could you want out of the dress to take you down the aisle (or to the Oscars)?
Offering the tiniest bit of a classic edge, though, is the length of Jones' gown: It stops just short of her shoes, making it not quite tea-length but also not quite full-length—perfect for the bride who wants the drama of a full skirt but the freedom of a short gown. The Dior creation is also reminiscent of several recent bridal runway trends, including V-necklines, ballerina-inspired skirts, and embellishments.
Felicity Jones most recently starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is nominated for best achievement in sound mixing and in visual effects. The actress will also be presenting during the night, alongside her Rogue One co-star, Riz Ahmed.
