Grab the hot dogs and hot dog buns (only eight!): It's time for a family reunion.
Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who costarred in 1991's hit rom-com Father of the Bride, recently reunited, giving wedding and nostalgia lovers a sweet treat.
Williams-Paisley, who played the film's bride, posted a photo on Instagram of her movie dad, George Banks, and movie wedding planner, the beloved Franck. "Loved seeing my former costars @stevemartintogo & @themartinshort at the Opryhouse tonight for their show in #Nashville," she captioned the pic. (The iconic actors are currently on a musical-comedy tour, which stopped in Williams-Paisley's town of Nashville.)
Unfortunately, there were no signs of pickup basketball games or swans, but perhaps Short gave Williams-Paisley some event-planning advice on an anniversary party she could throw with hubby, Brad Paisley—not Bryan MacKenzie. (The couple celebrated their 14-year anniversary just last week.)
Fans of the classic film (and its baby-centric sequel, Father of the Bride II) commented on the photo, hoping the reunion offered hope for a reboot of the movie. "They should do another movie as if her kids are older now and getting married," one commenter wrote. And while Hollywood's obsession with revivals would make it seem this is a possibility, Martin shut down the rumors in 2016.

"I don't think that's gonna happen," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I'd have to play a grandfather. Do I want to do that? Yeah, of course I do, but I think we've seen enough."
"But, you know, I think another generation will make that movie again," he added.
Perhaps the kids can run a very-2106 wedding company that develops social-media hashtags for couples?
