In the event that you needed a little twinge of jealously to liven up your Monday, we bring this seriously over-the-top wedding to ogle. You're welcome. This past weekend, the son of a horse-racing magnate (of course) tied the knot with Eveie Longdon (a friend of Princess Eugenie of York, naturally). And as you might expect from such a glamorous groom and society beauty of a bride, this wedding was crazy swanky.
The father of the groom put his horse-racing fortune to good use (subjectively, obvi) this weekend at the wedding of his son, Max Sangster, who got to celebrate his nuptials in truly epic style. According to The Daily Mail, the wedding took place in Ibiza (where Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander recently tied the knot!) and vows were exchanged at the Ibiza Cathedral—a super-casual venue (yeah, right) that sits on a hilltop, overlooking old Ibiza town. The bride, who runs her own lingerie line called BARE London and is apparently friends with British royalty (alas, it doesn't looks like the Duchess of Cambridge made the guest-list cut), walked down the aisle in a Zuhair Murad wedding dress that reportedly cost her over $15,000. Cool.
Allegedly, when Longdon first announced her nuptial news, Princess Diana's favorite designer, Bruce Oldfield, asked if he could be the one to design her wedding dress. But Longdon apparently didn't take the iconic princess's coveted couturier up on his offer. (Insert eye roll here.)
In wedding photos snapped by photographer Benjamin Wheeler, the couple made their grand exit through a flurry of thrown flower petals, and then it was off to their reception at Agroturismo Atzaro Ibiza—a luxe hotel featuring gorgeous gardens and picturesque pools. The outdoor space was outfitted with a giant "Love" marquee and mood-setting lighting, and guests dined under the stars and the property's breezy palm trees.
Of course, no over-the-top wedding lasts just one day. (Perish the thought!) The following day, guests were treated to a post-wedding cocktail party, where the bride slipped into another bridal-white lace dress for the occasion.
There, the new Mrs. Sangster tossed her bouquet from up above—off the balcony of the hotel—as if to remind us that she's (literally) above us all. The Daily Mail estimates that the wedding cost a grand total of—ready?—over $90,000.
