Empire star Kaitlin Doubleday is getting ready to walk down the aisle! The actress, who's getting married to her her longtime love DJ Devin Lucien this Mother's Day weekend, celebrating her rapidly approaching nuptials this weekend with a bridal shower fit for a Hollywood star.
There are few things we love more than wedding inspiration from celebrities, and Doubleday's pre-wedding party is giving us all the #bridalshowergoals. Her daytime bash at PLATFORM in Culver City was full of food, fun, drinks, gifts and, of course, wedding talk. "I'm feeling incredibly excited about the weekend!" Doubleday, who plays Rhonda Lyon on the hit FOX show, told E! News of her impending nuptials. "I can't believe that everyone I love is gonna be in the same room at the same time and I can't wait to celebrate and dance all night long!"
At her bridal shower, Doubleday totally killed the bride-to-be look in a white and blue maxi dress (photo below) that is the ideal show-stopping style for the guest of honor. And we love that she's already embracing the idea of "something blue!" As for her wedding dress, the actress wouldn't spill all the details, but she did share who helping her find that perfect gown — designer Mark Zunino.
"That was an amazing pick. He studied under the guy that made all the dresses for Dynasty," Doubleday said during an appearance on Amazon's show, Style Code Live. "They have Elizabeth Taylor's original dress form there, so the boning and how he makes those dresses, no matter what you pick, it just literally makes you feel like a million bucks. You know when you're wearing strapless things and sometimes you have to puff your chest out or suck in to make you feel like it's going to stay? This literally feels like, you just put it on and it's like a glove, and it's not uncomfortable while making your waist feel like nothing."
Doubleday also admitted that she's had her share of bridezilla moments (yikes!). "I said to my planner 'I kind of want to do things that are really mean, but I'm sure there's worse bridezillas than me. Like I want to switch out this person for this person at the last minute and is that horrible and I don't know.' She's like 'don't worry, don't worry.' I'm evil, it's more Kanye West of me, isn't it?" It sounds like Doubleday has little bit more Cookie in her than we thought.
