Emily Blunt and John Krasinski never fail to make us swoon, and at the 2019 SAG Awards, they did just that. On January 27, during the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Blunt won best supporting actress for her role in A Quiet Place, a film that was cowritten and directed by Krasinski.

“Oh my goodness me. Guys—that truly has completely blown my slicked hair back,” she said during her acceptance speech. “Thank you so, so, so much. I am so moved and completely lost for words and unprepared. I am going to share this completely with my husband, John Krasinski, because the entire experience of doing this with you has completely pierced my heart. You are a stunning filmmaker. I am so lucky to be with you and to have done this film with you.”

She also joked to her husband, “Thank you for giving me the part. You would have been in major trouble if you hadn’t."

She also thanked their daughters Hazel, four, and Violet, two.

“Thank you to the two little poems in our life, our daughters Hazel and Violet, who will have to be at least 45 before they see this film,” she said. “Thank you SAG, I am so honored.”

Krasinski, 39, stood up as soon as Blunt was announced as winner and applauded until she reached the stage. He was visibly emotional during her speech, with tears forming in his eyes during the sweet moment.

Following her big win, Blunt spoke about the process of filming with her husband and revealed that a lot of people warned her that her relationship might suffer from working together.

“My favorite thing about shooting A Quiet Place for sure was working with John,” Blunt, 35, told reporters in the SAG press room after her win. “We had never done it before and it is kind of the great unknown.”

“You go into this process not knowing what it’s going to be like. A lot of people were like ‘You’re going to be divorced by the end of it,’ but we were so much closer," she added. "I think the discovery of how we collaborated and could create something together was just so special.”

Krasinski posted a sweet shot from the exciting moment that Blunt was announced as winner. "Very fittingly...no words," he wrote next to a photo of himself and Blunt gasping in shock.

When asked in the press room about Krasinski's adorable reaction, Blunt replied, “I’m going to have to ask him.”

“He probably was as shocked as I was because I think it was very unexpected and it’s an incredible category and it’s certainly not something I had planned for,” she added. “I was pretty blown away and I think he was just overjoyed. He was overjoyed.”
