John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have proved time and time again that they define #couplegoals. The duo, who have been married since 2010, opened up in a rare joint interview with The Hollywood Reporter about their romance, and needless to say, it gave us all the feels.
The actors posed for the publication in a series of cute couple shots and spoke about their marriage, working together, and how they met. Blunt insists that she asked Krasinski out, but the actor had a different recollection of the beginning of their relationship. "No—it was me asking for a while, and you took some time, and then we finally had a date," Krasinski said, countering Blunt's claim that she was the one to make the first move.
The two did agree on the details of their first date, however, saying they spent the night hanging at Krasinski's West Hollywood apartment eating pizza. (Again, GOALS.) But after Krasinski hesitated on sharing a synopsis of their night together, Blunt told the publication that she wants to keep the details of the night to herself. "It's so precious, I don't want to talk about it. Is that all right?" she said.
The 2018 film A Quiet Place, written and directed by Krasinski, was the first film in which the couple costarred together—and it was a turning point in their marriage. Initially, Blunt said she had imagined someone else playing the part, but when she read the final script, everything changed. Her husband was thrilled by the opportunity to act alongside Blunt.
"It was like she was proposing to me," he said. "It was one of the greatest moments in my career. I screamed out, 'Yes!' I'm surprised we didn't emergency land in San Antonio."
Blunt revealed she even strayed from her normal acting/working rule to accommodate the movie. "I have a minimum of a five-month rule between projects, other than A Quiet Place," she said. "I broke the rule for him and him alone." These two!
